The Miami Dolphins are signing former Pro Bowl quarterback Tyler Huntley from the Baltimore Ravens’ practice squad, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
Huntley, 26, has spent most of his career with the Ravens, with a brief stint with the Cleveland Browns this offseason before rejoining Baltimore’s practice squad earlier this month.
In four seasons, Huntley has appeared in 20 games, making nine starts, and has eight career touchdown passes, seven interceptions, and three rushing touchdowns.
Huntley earned Pro Bowl honors in 2022 as an alternate after taking over for Lamar Jackson late in the year and helping Baltimore make the postseason.
The Dolphins needed another passer with Tua Tagovailoa sidelined due to a concussion suffered Thursday night, and Huntley joins the team as a viable option.
Skylar Thompson is set to start for the Dolphins, but Huntley provides additional depth and experience, and the team reportedly plans to keep Tagovailoa out until he’s fully cleared from his concussion protocol.
