Chicago Bears wide receiver DJ Moore expressed regret for his visible frustration and poor body language during the team’s loss to the Houston Texans last weekend.
Moore acknowledged that he shouldn’t have shown as much emotion and that it’s a part of the game.
He explained that the offense was struggling to connect and make plays, which led to his frustration.
Moore was unaware of how he looked during the game but saw footage afterwards and felt that his mannerisms were “too much”.
He clarified that he wasn’t upset at rookie quarterback Caleb Williams, who struggled against the Texans’ defense.
Williams completed 23 of 37 attempts for 174 yards, zero touchdowns, and two interceptions, and was sacked seven times.
Moore appeared despondent at times during the game, including when he remained on his back after an incomplete pass and later walked down the sideline, taking off his helmet.
Despite his frustration, Moore led the Bears with 96 catches for 1,364 yards and eight touchdowns in 2023 and was rewarded with a four-year, $110-million extension in July.
Moore emphasized that his frustration was not directed at anyone specifically, but rather at the struggles of the offense to make plays.
