The Miami Dolphins announced today that they have released quarterback Tim Boyle.
Boyle has appeared in 21 career games with five starts across five different teams, including the Green Bay Packers (2019-2020), Detroit Lions (2021), Chicago Bears (2022), New York Jets (2023), and Miami Dolphins (2024).
In his career, Boyle has completed 121 out of 196 passes (62.3%) for 1,013 yards, with four touchdowns and 12 interceptions. This season, he appeared in Miami’s Week 3 contest at Seattle as a reserve quarterback, completing 7 out of 13 passes for 79 yards.
Boyle originally entered the league as an undrafted college free agent with Green Bay in 2018. Prior to his NFL career, he played college football at Eastern Kentucky, where he started all 11 games in 2017 and completed 201 out of 327 passes for 2,134 yards with 11 touchdowns and 13 interceptions.
Before transferring to Eastern Kentucky in 2016, Boyle played three seasons (2013-2015) at the University of Connecticut. During his time at UConn, he appeared in 24 games with 12 starts, completing 241 out of 434 passes for 2,618 yards with 10 touchdowns and 16 interceptions.
