The Baltimore Ravens have started the season 0-2, with close losses to the Kansas City Chiefs (27-20) and Las Vegas Raiders (26-23).
Lamar Jackson, the reigning NFL MVP, believes the Ravens are “beating ourselves” due to penalties and missed opportunities.
In Week 2, the Ravens committed 11 penalties for 109 yards, compared to the Raiders’ three penalties for 15 yards.
Jackson specifically mentioned his own missed throws, including a crucial error in the closing seconds of the Chiefs game.
He missed a wide-open Zay Flowers in the end zone, which would have tied the game.
The Ravens also had a touchdown call overturned in the final seconds, which would have given them the lead.
Despite leading 23-13 in the fourth quarter, the Ravens allowed the Raiders to score 13 unanswered points and take the lead.
Jackson is taking responsibility for the team’s struggles, acknowledging that they need to improve their execution and reduce penalties.
The Ravens will look to bounce back in Week 3 against the Dallas Cowboys, aiming to turn their season around and build on their 13-win campaign from last year.
