The Miami Dolphins are turning to Skylar Thompson to lead the team, starting with a road game against the Seattle Seahawks.
Thompson has been in this position before, taking over for Tua Tagovailoa in 2022 after Tagovailoa suffered multiple concussions.
Although Thompson had some success, including a win against the New York Jets, he struggled in the playoffs against the Buffalo Bills.
However, Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel says Thompson is a different quarterback now, earning the team’s trust with his hard work and dedication.
McDaniel praises Thompson’s confidence, conviction, and swag, saying he’s a “different man” compared to last season.
Dolphins players also express confidence in Thompson, with receiver Jaylen Waddle saying he’s “excited” to see Thompson play.
Waddle notes that Thompson plays with a lot of swag and is prepared for the moment.
Thompson has been working tirelessly as a backup quarterback, running plays in walkthrough settings and earning his teammates’ respect.
The Dolphins have also signed Tyler Huntley off the Baltimore Ravens’ practice squad to provide additional support.
With Tagovailoa on injured reserve, Thompson is ready to take the reins and lead the Dolphins to victory.
As Thompson takes the field, he’ll look to prove himself as a capable starter and lead the Dolphins to success.
